A variable reluctance (VR) speed sensor, aka inductive pickup, uses a magnet to generate a signal, speed sensor, crank sensor, ABS sensor; all have magnets from my experience. if using a t5 or btr, this is simple as they still have the hall effect speed sensor which can be read by the cars speedo as well as the pcm. Currently I have the VSS going from the T56 to the DD box and everything reads correctly on the gauges. The TPSS1 is designed as a direct physical replacement for your stock VR (2 wire) speed sensor. That’s when things really got interesting. So, I set out to replace the 17 tooth wheel with a 40 tooth wheel.
